If you are having trouble making a connection to your VPS with remote desktop, read this article to fix the issue.

If you are having trouble making a connection to your VPS with remote desktop, and it starts to make a connection then fails, the reason is likely that you are out of RAM on your VPS.

This is common on 1 block Windows plans, as 1GB of RAM does not allow many programs to run before the operating system has memory issues.

To regain access you should use the console access in the portal, see: https://www.vpsblocks.com.au/support/Knowledgebase/Article/View/28/0/how-can-i-get-console-access-to-my-vps

Or stop and start your VPS in the portal, see: https://www.vpsblocks.com.au/support/Knowledgebase/Article/View/34/0/how-do-i-stop--start--restart-my-vps

You should then consider upgrading RAM, see: https://www.vpsblocks.com.au/support/Knowledgebase/Article/View/86/0/how-to-upgrade-your-memory--ram

When we provision Windows servers we also provision with no paging enabled. Enabling paging can help alleviate this issue, although upgrading RAM is still your best option. See: https://www.vpsblocks.com.au/support/Knowledgebase/Article/View/189/0/how-to-enable-the-page-file-on-windows
