Extending A Partition Windows 2003

This article tells how to extend a partition in Windows 2003. Follow this step and do yourself.

To extend a partition in Windows 2003 you need to use the command utility DISKPART.

Firstly, note you can ONLY extend the last volume on a disk.

Open a command prompt and type: diskpart

Type: list volume

Find the last volume on the disk (e.g. Volume 1)

Type: select volume 1

Type: extend

This will extend the selected volume with any remaining/free space on the partition.
